How it works

Using a Vibration Fitness machine

Vibration fitness consists of the user exercising on a sonic vibration platform which sends small vibrations through the body. The result of this is the stimulation of the bones, muscles, blood vessels and cells working your muscles from the inside out promoting rapid development and circulation.

By sending these small vibrations through the body this causes the muscles to contract and relax which stimulates the body?s natural stretch reflex. Depending on the machine settings the vibrations occur at varying rates between 3 ? 50 times a second. The higher the amount of vibrations per second the more the muscles will contract and relax which results in an entire body vibration. This means that just 10 minutes vibration exercise per day is the equivalent of 60 minutes of conventional strength training.

Exercising muscles causes them to tire; resting them allows them to recover. By repeating this through regular exercise this strengthens the muscles, increasing physical performance. Vibration fitness works in the same way but intensifies the exercise and rest therefore causing greater results in a short space of time and means that less time is needed to work muscle groups completely.

After standing in one of the difficult positions on the vibration plate for 1 minute the body will be panting and sweating as if it has exercised intensely for longer. The vibration fitness machine also reduces the weight lift training needed to strengthen the muscles thus causing less strain on the joints.

All the above combined with the subtlety of the vibrations means that a vibration fitness machine is suitable for building muscle, increasing core stability or for rehabilitation of injuries and combined with regular cardiovascular activity will result in a high level of all-round fitness.
